Chef Cecilia was born in Southern Vietnam. She came to Canada in the late 80s as a refugee from the Vietnam War - eventually settling down in Edmonton. By 1999, she had decided to pursue her passion in cooking and opened up her first restaurant.
Growing up in Vietnam, Cecilia first discovered her interest of food by observing her mother cook for a family of ten. Her style is authentic Vietnamese combined with elements of Thai and Chinese cooking. Today she is the chef and founder of three restaurants - Hoang Long Noodle House, Hoang Long Casual Fare and Hoang Long Fresh Market.
Cecilia and her husband opened their first Vietnamese restaurant in 1999, right in the heart of Chinatown in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This restaurant became a bustling success and in 2003, the restauranteurs opened a second location, Hoang Long Noodle House at the world famous West Edmonton Mall. With traffic continuing to increase, Hoang Long Noodle House expanded its footprint in 2009.
Between 2005 and 2013, the duo went through numerous changes in their restaurant ventures. In 2005, they opened a large restaurant on the corner of 170 Street and 101 Ave designed with a Southeast Asian flair that included a bamboo forest and rattan seats. In 2007, staff shortages would force them to close down the Chinatown location and in 2013 they had to close down the 170 street location due to economic conditions.
Reflecting from their experiences, Cecilia and David saw potential in a new concept for Vietnamese and Thai cuisine that was yet to be seen in the city. From that realization came Hoang Long Casual Fare in 2013, which gave patrons a balance of both a family restaurant and fast casual noodle house. It caters to the thousands of downtown office staff looking for a quick bite to eat during lunch, and also a place to grab an order to take home after work. Expanding upon the success of Hoang Long Casual Fare, the restaurant duo opened Hoang Long Fresh Marketplace in 2015 to continue their journey of introducing new concepts and new flavors to the Edmonton market.

The Italian Bakery established in 1960 was built on family fundamentals. Antonio and Aurora Frattin started it all by bringing their family traditions from humble beginnings in Italy. The business started in a little shop on 93 Street and as the business grew, the bakery moved to our current downtown location on 97 street in 1962.
Family involvement has been the key ingredient to the success of the Italian Bakery. As the family and business grew, we decided to open a second location to focus as a wholesale plant and retail store in Beverly on 118 Avenue in 1985 and underwent an expansion in 2009. The Italian Bakery holds family and community close to our hearts and we have been meaningfully involved in the community since our doors opened.

Sirloin Beef on Rice w/ Sesame Sauce
Bean Sprout Salad w/ Ginger Sauce
We are Edmonton’s one of the oldest restaurant. We serve mainly Japanese Style Teppan Yaki Steak and Seafood at the customer's table.
We have a great atmosphere for group celebrations such as birthday parties or just a fun night out.
We made most of our sauces from scratch. Sesame sauce is the most popular one. It was used for beef steaks originally, but people use it on everything these days.
Therefore serving the most popular menu seems like a good idea. That was over 2 decades ago. Today we are still serving the same item at the Tastes Of Edmonton.
